Another show biz baby, the Hollywood Turf Club was formed under the chairmanship of Jack L. Warner (of the Warner Brothers studio). With 600 original shareholders including film stars, directors and producers that included Al Jolson and Raoul Walsh (two of the original directors of the board), Joan Blondell, Ronald Colman, Walt Disney, Bing Crosby, Sam Goldwyn, Darryl Zanuck, George Jessel, Ralph Bellamy, Hal Wallis, Anatole Litvak, Hunt Stromberg, Wallace Beery, Irene Dunne and the late Mervyn LeRoy.
Hollywood Park has two racetracks:
Main Track: One and one eight mile, oval.
Turf Course: One Mile, 145 Feet.
Hollywood Park Racing Dates :
Spring/Summer Meeting - April to July
Autumn Meeting - November to December
Wednesday through Monday
Post Times: 1:20 p.m. Daily
Hollywood Park by the numbers:
Main Course: One and one eighth miles with 7 1/2 furlongs
Turf Course: One mile, 165-foot oval, with diagonal chute
Total Park Area: 240 acres. Infield: 36.3 acres.

Optional valet parking is available for $8.
Preferred parking is available for $3.
General admission: $7.00
Clubhouse: $10.00
Finish Line Lounge (Casino): $10.00
Turf Club: $20.00 -- $15 during simulcasting
Seniors (62 and over): $4 General admission (Wed. and Thurs. only)
Bus/Pedestrian: $5.50 Children 17 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult Daily box seat sales
Upper Club - daily box seat tickets available for purchase on the 3rd floor Clubhouse level across from the Jack Daniels Bar: $2.00 per seat. entire box purchase required
Personal Press Box: $3.00 - In additional to Clubhouse admission
